Looking for something to do when you make the trip to Park House?

It’s midway through summer, and the home stretch of the school holidays. By this point, most people have spent all their energy, and exploring can be a daunting exercise. But, so can developing states of boredom…Don’t be discouraged! The Northern Beaches is melting pot of potential entertainment.

Mona Vale Beach

If you’re still in a food coma from the Christmas and New Year party duo, the beach requires next to no effort. Show up with a towel, and don’t forget to slip, slop and slap underneath the rich Aussie sun. Of course, you can try your usual beach, but if you’re in the mood for change, the Northern Beaches has 23 along the stretch . Get the crew together and map out a day trip  Of course, our favourite is Mona Vale Beach, walking distance from Park House.

Manly Surf and Slide

If you’re a parent and you know your energetic kids need something lively to sink their teeth into, Manly Surf n Slide might be your way to go. Previously known as Manly Waterworks, the newly owned water park is an opportunity for family fun, or a nice moment for parents to sit back, relax and watch.

Walking Tracks – The Basin and Palm Beach

“Bikalabarley Murraring Walla Giballee Uaddung Gurinfai Wanangini Wahroong Yennieubu”

~Let us walk together in Guringai Country as one

Some people prefer to stay dry, and that is in no way limiting on this side of the bridge! Guringai Indigenous tours explore the Basin Track for group tours several times a week. As an authentic cultural experience in the local national park, it is the perfect way to learn about the origins of Australia, and the ‘country’ we live on. A natural immersion slightly less intense would be the Barrenjoey Lighthouse at Palm Beach. With a breathtaking view, heightened by the rise and fall of the sun, it is one of the best escapes this summer on the north shore.

House of Worship, Ingleside

Another cultural landmark with a slightly understated reputation on the North shore is the Baha’i Temple, or House of Worship. One of seven in the world, it is situated in the hills and bushland of Mona Vale. Originated in Persia, the faith of Baha’i values and educates the essential worth of all belief systems. In a multicultural Australia is it without doubt a relevant spiritual place. Free admission and guided tours run daily.

Long Lunch or Burgers

If you’ve ticked a few of the above off your list, it might be time for a burger, beer and possibly a boogie or a long lunch with fresh cocktails to quench your thirst and a burst of flavours from the Restaurant…
